Prompt Maturity Model

cognitive-interface-architecture / prompt-maturity-model

Definition

A five-level framework for assessing and advancing a practitioner's or organisation's prompt architecture capability. Level 1 (Ad Hoc): prompts are individual, untested, and unshared. Level 2 (Managed): prompts are documented with basic validation. Level 3 (Defined): organisation-wide standards exist. Level 4 (Quantified): quality is measured with structured benchmarks. Level 5 (Optimising): continuous improvement via automated red-teaming and cross-organisational learning.

What this prevents

Without a maturity model, "AI capability" is a vague aspiration with no diagnostic or planning function. The PMM converts it into a measurable progression with defined practices at each level.
