Intent Surface

cognitive-interface-architecture / intent-surface

Definition

The interface where a human's goal is translated into a model-readable specification. The point at which intent crosses into structure. Distinct from the Control Surface: the Control Surface is the whole substrate; the Intent Surface is one specific structure: the human-to-model translation point: sitting on the Control Surface.

What this prevents

When the Intent Surface is incomplete, the model fills the gap with its own assumptions. The output is plausible but misaligned.
