Semantic Drift Vector

cognitive-interface-architecture / semantic-drift-vector

Definition

The direction and magnitude by which a model's interpretation moves away from the user's intent over a conversation. Diagnosable by examining successive responses for accumulated paraphrase: the model rewrites your earlier instructions slightly each turn, and the error compounds.

What this prevents

Long conversations degrade without a drift-correction mechanism. A model that understood you correctly at turn two may be operating on a subtly different version of your instructions by turn twenty.
